THE MIDDLE - EASTER AT SURFACE

Apr 5, 2026    Pastor Cedric Cobb

This powerful Easter message challenges us to look beyond the celebration of resurrection and examine what happens in the middle—that uncomfortable space between promise and fulfillment. Drawing from Matthew 27, Mark 16, and Luke 23-24, we're confronted with a sobering reality: while Jesus rose as promised, His disciples remained in hiding, consumed by fear and unbelief. The message explores how Joseph of Arimathea, not the twelve disciples, had to step up to bury Jesus because those closest to Him were paralyzed by grief. This reveals a profound truth about our own faith journeys—we often know God's promises intellectually but fail to prepare for their fulfillment. The middle is where we experience the most tension, encounter the most fear, and where many lose hope and give up. Yet this is precisely where transformation happens. Jesus didn't just die for our sins; His resurrection sealed our destiny and gave us authority to walk in newness of life. The question becomes: are we going to fulfill the word God has spoken over us, or will we remain idle, reclining in our comfort zones? This message calls us to recognize that even when we can't see what God is doing in the silence, He's working behind the scenes, taking back keys, preaching revival in hell, and preparing our breakthrough. The middle isn't exposing us to others—it's revealing us to ourselves, teaching us how much we truly trust God.
