NO MORE LONELY VICTORIES

What does it really mean to win? We often celebrate personal victories, the new job, the open door, the breakthrough moment, as if they exist solely for our own benefit. But scripture paints a radically different picture. Drawing from the account in Exodus 17, where Moses stands on a hill with his staff raised during battle, we are confronted with a humbling truth: even the most gifted, most anointed among us get tired. And when Moses grew weary, the battle began to turn. It was only when Aaron and Hur stepped in, one on each side, holding up his arms until sunset, that victory was secured. The lesson is striking. Weakness is not a disqualifier from leadership or purpose; it is actually the invitation for partnership. When we refuse to acknowledge our exhaustion, when we shake it off and press on alone, we may be robbing others of the opportunity to participate in something greater than themselves. This message challenges us to reconsider the victories we have been chasing and ask honestly whether those victories are meant to benefit only us, or whether they are meant to carry an entire community forward.
